Over time, aging skin loses elasticity and volume. The loss of skin volume is a result of lower quantities of hyaluronic acid in the body, which naturally deliver nutrients to the skin, to help retain moisture, softness and volume. This natural process, plus genetics and environmental factors like sun exposure, can cause moderate to severe wrinkles, depressed cheeks, and form deepened skin folds.

Thanks to advances in non-surgical cosmetic treatments such as dermal fillers, you can treat the signs of aging without the need for surgery. Dermal fillers come in a variety of formulas to target specific signs of aging that include wrinkles, sagging skin, deep skin folds, volume loss including under-eye hollows, and thinning lips. Most fillers work by boosting the amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin, leading to a smoother, more youthful appearance.

Juvéderm® Ultra XC and Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC

Juvéderm® Ultra XC and Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC are long-lasting hyaluronic acid fillers that help to reestablish moisture and elasticity to the skin. The two Juvéderm® options differ in consistency and the areas they are best suited to treat.

Juvéderm® Ultra XC works best to correct mild to moderate superficial wrinkles, thinning lips, under eye hollows and dark circles. Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC is recommended for deeper, more prominent wrinkles and facial folds, lines at the corner of your mouth (marionette lines), and significant volume loss to your cheeks. Results typically last up to one year for both treatment options.

Juvéderm® Volbella XC

WHAT TO EXPECT?

The actual injection treatment can take 15 minutes to 60 minutes, depending on which area of your face is being treated. With most dermal fillers, results can be almost immediate. The most common side effects are tenderness, swelling, firmness, bumps, bruising, redness, itching or discoloration at the injection site. It is important to minimize strenuous exercise, exposure to extensive sun or heat, and alcohol within the first 24 hours following treatment.
