Appointment, Responsibilities, and Conduct Policy

Did you know that the national average no-show rate is around 23%? However, this number can soar as high as 30% in subspecialties. It’s quite surprising that almost 38% of no-show patients claim to have forgotten about their appointments, even after receiving reminders. To combat this issue, the Texas Medical Association strongly encourages healthcare providers to implement appointment policies to reduce missed appointments.

In line with prevailing industry practices (medical, dental, veterinarian, hair salons, etc.), charging a no-show fee has become standard, especially within the medical sector. No-shows can significantly disrupt our front office workflow, causing inconvenience and potential delays for other patients.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. Please complete all required Touch MD electronic medical forms before your appointment. To ensure a smooth and timely experience for all, we kindly request that these forms be fully completed at least 24 hours before your arrival. If the forms are not submitted within this timeframe, your appointment will be given to a patient on our waitlist, and you will be subject to a no-show fee as outlined within this policy. This requirement allows Dr. Yaker to prepare for his clinic patients before starting surgery that morning. Our commitment is to minimize wait times and provide prompt attention to each patient. Your cooperation helps maintain the efficiency of our schedule and the care we offer everyone.
  2. Detailed pricing for our non-surgical and surgical treatments is included in your electronic medical forms and is readily available on our website. We recognize that treatments for hair loss represent a significant long-term investment. If, for any reason, you choose not to proceed, we fully understand. For a complete refund of your consultation fee, please inform us at least 48 hours before your scheduled consultation.
  3. You are required to confirm, reschedule, or cancel your appointment at least 48 hours in advance. As appointments are often booked 6 to 8 weeks in advance, we require confirmation to secure your appointment date and time. Please respond via any of our provided communication methods—text, e-mail, or phone. Without confirmation, you will be considered a no-show, incur a no-show fee of $100, and your appointment will be offered to someone on our waitlist.
  4. If you incur a $100 fee, it will be charged against your initial consultation fee for new patients or due before any rescheduling or medication refills for returning patients. We understand that emergencies and illnesses happen, so with verification, these occurrences will be excluded from this policy.
  5. Should you no-show or cancel your appointments three times, we reserve the right to dismiss you as a patient of YAKER Hair Restoration + Med Spa.
  6. Please plan to arrive on time, taking weather and traffic into consideration. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you will be rescheduled, with a no-show fee applied. Again, we want to be courteous of your time, Dr. Yaker’s, and the patients following you.
  7. Please be sure you select the correct Dr. Yaker when using GPS, as there are two physicians with the same last name in the Plano area. Our practice, Dr. Joseph Yaker (YAKER Hair Restoration + Med Spa), is distinct from Dr. Natan Yaker’s practice (Cosmetic Surgery Associates of Texas). You also have the correct address from our e-mail and/or text communication. Late arrivals beyond 15 minutes will need to reschedule and will incur a no-show fee.
  8. A valid driver’s license or legal identification is required upon arrival, as per standard medical practice protocols.
  9. For virtual and phone appointments, please submit the requested photos with clarity and proper lighting 24 hours in advance. This allows Dr. Yaker adequate time to review them before your appointment. Inadequate photos or late submissions will result in rescheduling and a no-show fee.
  10. For virtual patients, please be ready to start on time and know how to navigate Google Meet (have your camera and microphone activated) before your appointment. Any delay of more than 15 minutes from your scheduled appointment will result in the need to reschedule it, and you will incur a no-show fee.
  11. Non-Surgical Follow-Up Visits: There is a fee for all non-surgical follow-ups ranging from $50 to $75. Generally, your first follow-up is 9 months following the initiation of treatment. This visit allows both you and Dr. Yaker to objectively evaluate your before and after photos together. Following this visit, you can come in annually for surveillance, or you may simply fill out annual medical forms to update your medical information. This is required for any medical practice where a patient is prescribed a daily prescription medication. Should you cancel your first follow-up appointment after initiating medication and do not reschedule, you will not be allowed to refill your medication after 12 months until you have been seen one time in person. All medical providers must evaluate their patients annually when prescribed daily prescription medication.
  12. Please be courteous to our staff and others by refraining from speaking on your cell phone in our lobby.
  13. All calls are recorded for quality assurance to ensure excellence in service. We strive to maintain a respectful and supportive environment for our staff and patients. Please be aware that we have a strict policy against negative behavior. Such actions may lead to immediate dismissal from our practice to maintain a positive experience for everyone.

By adhering to these policies, we can facilitate excellent-quality patient care and satisfaction and also allow patients on our waiting list to be seen much sooner.
